Australia's players, like England's, are allotted a Test number to mark the order in which each has made their debut.
Michael Clarke's number is 389 and he decided to have it tattooed on his back in Roman numerals.
This has caused problems before. Aussie opener Michael Slater famously tattooed the wrong number (356 instead of 357) on his body and even commissioned a personalised number plate, which was also wrong.
Slater had to beg Brendon Julian, who was the real 356, and Cricket Australia to swap and Julian eventually took pity on him and agreed.
Clarke, Australia's underfire vice-captain, also had his number tattooed in Roman numerals - and has been ribbed about it too.
That is because Clarke chose to represent 389 with numerals for each individual number, rather than the correct representation of three hundred and eighty nine.
We know that Pup himself read the post and was probably wondering what on Earth to do next with himself and this big massive mess of a tattoo on his arm.
Well, I can certainly tell him what NOT to do and that is ask someone who doesn’t know squat about the Arabic on his arm either way, namely Salman Butt…
Yes, contrary to popular belief, having brown skin and being a bona-fide Johnny Foreigner doesn’t make you qualified to understand the intricacies of Arabic grammar, with my dearest respects to Hazrat Salman Butt Saab of course.
